Pink Panther Cartoon Pictures Definition

This is a list of the original 124 The Pink Panther animated shorts produced between December 18, 1964 to December 31, 1978 by DePatie-Freleng Enterprises (DFE Films).[1] 92 shorts were released theatrically, and eventually appeared on Saturday mornings via The Pink Panther Show starting in 1969. All made-for-television entries (#93-#124) were also distributed to theaters after initially airing on The All New Pink Panther Show in 1978-1979.
The Pink Panther's long-time foil, known simply as The Little Man, appeared in many entries except where noted. The Pink Panther is a series of comedy films featuring a bumbling French police detective, Inspector Jacques Clouseau. The series began with the release of The Pink Panther (1964). The role was originated by, and is most closely associated with, Peter Sellers. Most of the films were directed and co-written by Blake Edwards, with theme music composed by Henry Mancini.
Despite its use in the titles of most of the films of the series, 'Pink Panther' is not the Clouseau character, but a large and valuable pink diamond which is first shown in the first film in the series.[1] The phrase reappears in the title of the fourth film, The Return of the Pink Panther, in which the theft of the diamond is again the center of the plot. That film also marked the return of Sellers to the role after a gap of ten years, which may have contributed to some confusion between the character and the diamond. The phrase was used for all the subsequent films in the series, even when the jewel did not figure in the plot (it only appeared in six of the eleven films).
The first film in the series had an animated opening sequence, created by DePatie-Freleng Enterprises and set to the theme music by Henry Mancini, which featured the Pink Panther character. This character, designed by Hawley Pratt and Friz Freleng, was subsequently the subject of its own series of animated cartoons which gained its greatest fame when aired on Saturday mornings as The Pink Panther Show. The character would be featured in the opening of every film in the movie series except A Shot in the Dark and Inspector Clouseau.Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau (formerly inspector) is a fictional detective in Blake Edwards's Pink Panther series. In most of the films, he was played by Peter Sellers, with one film in which he was played by Alan Arkin and one in which he was played by an uncredited Roger Moore. In the 2006  Pink Panther revival and its 2009 sequel, he is played by Steve Martin. Sellers is widely regarded as the definitive Chief Inspector Clouseau of pop culture by fans and critics alike.
He was born in September 8th, 1920.
He is also the inspiration of the main character in a series of short animated cartoons inspired by the titles of the feature films. Though the character in the animated late 1960s series was never given a name, he is clearly based on Clouseau. However, more recent animated depictions of Chief Inspector Clouseau since the 1970s on were redesigned to resemble Sellers, and later Martin, more closely. The Pink Panther is the sly, lanky animated cat created by Friz Freleng and David DePatie. Often harried but rarely ruffled, the skinny feline was first created for the opening titles of the live-action film The Pink Panther (1964), which starred Peter Sellers as a bumbling French policeman pursuing an exotic diamond called the Pink Panther. The animated titles were so popular that DePatie and Freleng immediately set to work on a series of animated shorts, in the vein of Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse, starring the animated cat. (The cartoons were unrelated to the live-action film and its diamond.) The Pink Panther cartoons had no dialogue, but were backed by variations on Henry Mancini's slithery, saxophone-y Pink Panther theme (also from the original film). In the 1970s the Pink Panther acquired his own Saturday-morning TV show and all the other trappings of cartoon stardom. Several sequels to the original live-action film also were made, and the two Pink Panthers ran in parallel universes for more than 15 years.
Extra credit: The Pink Panther appeared in a long-running series of ads for Owens Corning insulation... The first Pink Panther short, Pink Phink, was released late in 1964 and won an Oscar as the year's best animated short.Pink Panther the cartoon character began as an introduction to the Movie, The Pink Panther. He had British suave; everyone liked him, especially adults, and the sophisticated. Pink Panther had style, and Fritz Freleng, his creator, played to audiences’ expectations, making his pink feline character subtle with his pantomime humor and cool, graceful movement to Henry Mancini’s music. Every time a Pink Panther introduction was made for a movie, the public demanded more. As a result, stand-alone cartoons were developed with Pink Panther interacting with his own rendition of Inspector Clouseau, and “the little man,” who might surface as anyone in any curious situation.
The Pink Panther television series began in 1969, generating large audiences enthralled with the stoic, leading character fighting bad guys with the aid of Inspector Clouseau and his assistant, Sergeant Deux-Deux.
